ADULTING AT DISNEY

DISNEY FOR ADULTS – Should I visit without kids?

“You’re dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.”

Walt Disney

Are you planning a trip to Disney World without kids in tow? What does the park have to offer for adults? Let me tell you, Disney is like Vegas without the gambling and strippers LOL. Between the food, shows and overall scale of the place, it’s pretty easy to compare the two. If you can view the toddlers as little drunk people, you can pretty much imagine you are on the strip 🤣.

I recently came across an article that inspired this first blog post. It featured a mother who was complaining about adults visiting Disneyworld without kids. I have included the article with a screenshot of the original complaint for anyone looking for a good laugh. Warning: if you think the world should revolve around your child or you are strongly against foul language, do not proceed to the link. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/disney-world-rant-mom-criticizes-childless-couples-at-happiest-place-on-earth-insists-its-for-kids-and-parents-only/

I want to start by saying Disney is for EVERYONE. I am not yet a mother so I can’t begin to imagine the joy it would bring to see your little one’s face light up when greeted by Mickey. With that said, Disney is not just for teenagers who can’t stop texting, or for children who are too tired to wait in another line. Disney is also for adults. Adults who can plan out the whole thing to their own liking. This can include making the early morning mad dash for the best rides. Spending an afternoon drinking your way around Epcot. Or, finding that perfect fireworks viewing spot and patiently waiting for the show without any crying or hissy fits.

If you’re catching my drift, DisneyWorld is actually more enjoyable as an adult than it was for me as a kid. When I visited Disney on my 10th birthday I had a wonderful trip and there are bits and pieces I remember clearly from it. But I can honestly say the trips I take now as a 25 year old mean way more to me than they did 15 years ago. If you are like me, old (lol) and still in love with Disney, follow along to learn all the best “grown up” things to see and do in the parks !
